MetaGenoPolis is a scientific excellence INRAE research unit in microbiome analysis. Our scientists were the first to explore in depth the microbial genes of the human intestinal tract – and today, they conduct standardized high-throughput DNA metagenomics analyses for applications in human and animal health.
MetaGenoPolis offers end-to-end microbiome analysis services, including DNA extraction, library preparation, shotgun sequencing, quantitative and functional metagenomics, big data storage and computing facilities, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and data interpretation – all under innovant scientific platforms, accompanied by an ethical center: UCLy (Lyon Catholic University).
MetaGenoPolis drives innovation by partnering with companies from the health, pharmaceutical, nutrition, and animal health industries. The Human Gut Microbiome Atlas (HGMA) provides i) quantitative information of global shotgun metagenomics of human gut microbiome ii) function/phenotype information of the human gut-associated metagenomic species pan-genomes (MSP) and iii) provide global map of human gut microbiome. Global shotgun metagenomics of normal human gut microbiome from 18 countries are presented with i) species abundance, ii) gene richness and iii) enterotypes. In addition, comprehensive analysis enabled the identification of species enriched/depleted in 20 different diseases with functions/phenotype of respective species, detailing the dysbiosis in gut microbiome composition.
