Our Mission

Improve human health and well-being

for health, pharmaceutical and food industries

to explore gut microbial communities and bring new discoveries

    accompanied by an ethical center

the driving force for the translation of discoveries

Microbiome, source of innovation

A promise to bring new discoveries to tomorrow’s market, to join forces for the development of new products and components, prognostics and diagnostics, a great opportunity to contribute to improving human health and well-being

Better understand the heterogeneity of the gut microbiome of healthy individuals (via Citizen microbiome science projects)

Preventive / personalized nutrition (via functional metagenomics)

Microbiome as a new clinical tool (via standardized profiling of the microbiome)

Animal health and nutrition

New drugs thanks to the microbiome (via the exploitation of our bank of 575,000 clones)

Explore gut microbial communities & discover their roles

MGP proposes performant and high-throughput technologies to analyse complex microbiome diversity and interactions between gut bacteria and human cells. Our primary purpose is to explore the link between microbiome, nutrition and health. With our 3 innovative platforms, we offer end-to-end microbiome analysis services, including customized recommendation on sample collection, samples biobanking, DNA extraction, library preparation, shotgun sequencing, quantitative and functional metagenomics, bioinformatics, statistical analysis and data interpretation.

Ethical guidance all along our project activities

The research Group of Epistemology and Ethics of Sciences and Technologies (GEEST) of the Catholic University of Lyon UCLy (Lyon Catholic University) offers an ethical guidance all along our project activities, a support for publication and communication activities and a process of co-construction of new interdisciplinary pathways. UCLy is particularly interested through MGP to work in situ with researchers and industrials, who will bring their direct technical experience.

the driving force for the translation of discoveries

Collaboration with industrial actors is the key factor for MGP as the driving force for the translation of our discoveries, into health-related products and services, to identify and fully address leads towards future industrial applications, to help design and conduct scientific projects towards applications.
